Our Need

India is a country of diversities and agriculture is a profession which is common in most of the villages across India and South Tamilnadu is no exception. Madurai is an integral part of these Southern areas and there are numerous villages around it, most of the people living here are highly dependent on agriculture but the inconsistency of monsoon rains forces these farmers to look out for alternatives in the neighboring towns for employment.

If parents move then unfortunately the whole family has to shift spoiling the education of the children as they are not able to continue their schooling. The common places they migrate to is Sivakasi, Satoor and Kovilpatti where industries such as fireworks, brickworks and making charcoal exists this forces them to stay out of their native places for a long time and also provides them with a very meager income.

The core issue is that the children are the suffering lot, their dreams of studying and becoming big is blocked because of lack of resources. We spent time on this issue to find out why, the reasons were that 1) there are parents who are not able to provide the basic needs to the children like food, clothing, shelter which forces these children also to work with them. 2) Children who are orphans or semi orphans who take up menial jobs for survival or for their basic needs3) There are children who are minimally impaired who also are not able to continue studies because of several reasons. 4) These are the several other issues surrounding these children not to get their basic needs and to continue their studies.

Observing these problems for a long time with huge burden and commitment in our heart for these destitute children a trust was established in the name of none other than the one who did these kind of services selflessly. The Annai Theresa Seva Trust is now running a hostel with around 200 children where basic needs are given completely free of cost, and they attend their schools from this hostel in the same village and the neighboring town , ofcourse this whole process is started with huge belief in God and contribution of generous individuals.
